What is Iberian Ham?
Iberian ham is an exceptional cured meat made from Iberian pigs, a breed native to the Iberian Peninsula, in southwestern Europe.
Hams from free-range Iberian pigs raised in natural pastures develop unique aromas thanks to a diet rich in acorns. In this case, we refer to Iberian acorn-fed ham, considered an emblematic product of Spanish and Iberian gastronomy.
Unlike Serrano ham, Iberian ham is distinguished by its more intense flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture.

What is the shelf life of the Iberian charcuterie sold in our online store?
The Iberian cured meats you can order from our LOLO Jamón online store usually last for several months, depending on the product chosen and its packaging.
Generally, if an unstarted whole "pata negra" ham or acorn-fed ham, it can be stored for 6 to 12 months in a dry, ventilated place. Once opened, it is best consumed within 3 to 6 months.
Vacuum-packed sliced formats, such as acorn-fed Iberian ham or "cebo de campo" ham, can be stored on average for up to 12 months in the refrigerator as long as they are unopened.
